What Violet Verse is
Violet Verse is decentralized software that lets tokenized communities build websites to showcase and monetize their content with cryptocurrency. It was originally built with JavaScript and React Native, with FLOW and Phantom wallet support, Privy login to capture wallet addresses, and a Vercel environment for backend access.
Violet Verse was designed as a modern take on WordPress, with a modular codebase that lets writers get paid in crypto. Because every user has a unique profile, the decentralized model can send native tokens to anyone who signs up to read, contribute, or tip a writer.
What I built
As founder, I led the product from initial concept to launch. The goal was a seamless login built on Web3 wallet infrastructure and a high-fidelity blogging platform with integrated tipping, built-in formatting, and easy uploads on every page. We deliberately left out font selection to keep published content consistent. The first users were early-adopter crypto natives and airdrop hunters.
What it taught me
Building Violet Verse taught me:
- How blockchain updates and outdated plugins can stall a technical product. Just before launch, we had to switch login providers due to capability issues, and the wallet provider has changed twice since.
- At launch, a native token incentive attracted a global audience, and the content skewed heavily toward Web3. Today, our users are more tech-curious and less interested in the crypto layer.
- Leading a product end to end taught me to find where early engagement comes from organically, research why, and then scale it by identifying niche communities that already have a strong presence.
- This experience shaped how I approach product marketing: planning launches that fit a technical product’s lifecycle, crafting messaging that drives adoption among both technical and consumer audiences, and understanding what makes products succeed.
